February 3rd is the holiday of Setsubon, a celebration of the changing of the seasons from winter to spring. (Hooray!).
It's also popular to eat a huge uncut sushi roll, called nori maki. We did partake in this tradition:Meanwhile, the kids were visited by a mystery teacher dressed up as an oni, whom they got to bombard with beans while shouting "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi! at. Good times....

I bet that teacher will think twice about showing up to jacob's class after witnessing his cannon-like arm.
